SMSlife.in is a cool new startup allowing you to “send free SMS – Voice - Xpressions and more”. It offers alerts and reminder services for mobiles through SMS and voice call. Thus it can be used as an alarm or a simple reminder service to get things done.
Using the alert feature you can save the Birthday and Anniversary alerts so that you don’t miss them again. The wishes will be sent to your friends and dear ones automatically, impressive – isn’t it ?
Using reminder service you can time a call which will remind you to go to the meeting or attend the function. In addition to these they also have an option of Xpressions. It is like Twitter for Indians :D, allowing you to write small messages of 160 characters.
Apart from these feature, it also allows you to send free SMS in India of 90 characters (followed by a small ad).

Overall SMSLife is a good and innovative idea. However adding a support of uploading the address book or synchronizing the features with Outlook calendar are some of the areas that can be considered to expand upon. Also the reminders sent are from the number of smslife.in, it would have been better if it was sent from the phone number of the user.
SQL Injection - Is your site protected from it ? [Hacking]
Little time back we had written on how to hack BSNL Dataone accounts (the National Internet Backbone) and how to save your own account. Today we will like to discuss about a little exploit which is quite common on the sites using SQL. The trick is called SQL Injection.
What is SQL Injection ?
SQL injection is an attack in which malicious code is inserted into strings that are later passed to an instance of SQL Server for parsing and execution.
In other words:
“SQL Injection” is subset of the an unverified/unsanitized user input vulnerability (“buffer overflows” are a different subset), and the idea is to convince the application to run SQL code that was not intended.
Why SQL injection works ?
The reason SQL injection works is that whereas most systems separate code and data, SQL combines them together. All a hacker needs to do is include some of his own code with the data he sends to a website, then he can gain control of the website.

R. MAK. shares a nice plugin for Firefox called Tamper Data. What Tamper Data does is it can track or modify http/https requests.In simple words, when we play flash games or take tests on web (which uses javascript), it posts a http requests containing the score. Using the Tamper Data extension we can edit that information to whatever we like.
How to use it:
- Install the extension.
- Goto the the web-page where you want to cheat (can be a game or form quiz).
- Click Tools » Tamper Data » Start Tamper.
- Now complete the game/quiz.
- When you will click on the submit button (to submit the scores) an alert will appear asking you to tamper the data.
- Click Tamper.
- Edit the required fields (most often it is named as “Score”) to the value you want.
- Click Ok.
That’s it, the modified scores will be submitted to the site. Congrats, you are a winner now :D !

Earlier we had shared about some sites which provided the best photo effects online in one click. ImageChef is another very similar service, which is more concentrated on the text effects and frames.
The catalogue is quite good with a large inventory. One can even use them for visual poetry.
Overall a ImageChef is a nice service truly worth a look.

Stumbled Upon some great tricks for firefox which would make your browsing experience much faster and secure. One of the best tricks was enabling the pipelining feature in Firefox.
Speed up Firefox with pipelining
Here’s a simple way to speed up Web browsing with Firefox — turn on its hidden pipelining feature. When you turn on pipelining, you send several requests to a Web server at a time, rather than sending them one by one, so you can load multiple items on a page concurrently. By default, pipelining is turned off in Firefox, but it’s easy to turn it on:
- Type about:config into your address bar and hit Enter.
- In the Filter text box, at the top of the page, type network.http. A list of settings appears, as you can see in the nearby figure.
- Double-click the “network.http.pipelining” setting, to change it to true.
- Double-click the “network.http.proxy.pipelining” setting, to change it to true.
- Double-click the “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” setting, and in the text box that appears, type in 8 and click OK.
Note that not all Web servers can handle pipelining. If for some reason, you find that your performance suffers with it turned on, reverse the above steps to turn it off.

LyricsPlugin is a cool plugin for Windows Media Player and Winamp.
Lyrics Plugin is a piece of software tailored for music fans. To put it simply - it is an add-on to view lyrics in WinAmp or Windows Media Player. No more searching for lyrics. Just start listening to your favourite songs and lyrics will be displayed automatically. Oh, and if lyrics is not found, you can add it yourself :)
The plugin is simple and effective supporting Bollywood songs too. I have tried it on WMP without any trouble. In case the plugin is unable to find the lyrics one can add them by searching Google. That too is done in the player itself.
Overall I say it is a must have plugin for music fans.
Most amazing Opticla Illusion - Dancing Girl
Keep looking at the rotating lady, concentrate on her shadow (foot area) and suddenly see the figure. The lady will start rotating in opposite direction.
It took me a hell lot of time to see the illusion, however my brother got it in the first look.
So far it is the best illusion I have ever seen :D .
