Today the results for CA final exams (May 08) were to be announced and I was busy refreshing the results site as my brothers’ result was to be declared. Though the site said the results will be out at 12, they always do it a bit early. Just then I found a Firefox addon, Check4Change, which gave me some rest by doing the job in an automated fashion.

Check4Change (aka C4C) is a simple extension that allows you to periodically check a web-page for updates.

Usage:

1. Select the text you want monitored for updates.

2. Right-Click. On the Check4Change context menu, select the time interval. The tab icon will indicate this page is being monitored by changing to C4C.

That’s it! Sit back, and wait for the notifications, which include:
* Little dancing C4C letters in the tab icon. Clicking the tab indicates you’ve seen it, and the icon changes back to the original.
* Pop-up alert notification.
* Sound notification.

At 11:03 AM finally there was a pop-up which said that the results were out and my brother became a Chartered Accountant. Congrats bro!
